Abstract

We propose a six month visit to CENTRA (Centro Multidisciplinar para Astrofísica), at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), in Lisbon, for an internship abroad under the supervision of Professor Vitor Cardoso. The internship will allow for a systematic study of superradiance in non-axisymmetric systems. The project will focus on analogue models without axial symmetry, the Majumdar-Papapetrou metric and the Penrose process in binary black holes. CENTRA has a dynamic and international environment with many graduate students, postdoctoral researchers and professors, which will allow the student to get in contact with current research topics in gravitation, besides the ones already proposed in this project.
