Abstract Despite advances in Brazilian citriculture, propitiated by the development of biotechnological tools, the pests and diseases are still considered as the main obstacles in citrus crop. The huanglongbing (HLB) or greening does not present effective sources of control and resistance causing big damages to the citrus industry. Thus the pursuit of knowledge of genetic mechanisms that trigger many biological processes involved in the response to the HLB is important for the citrus industry. In this sense, the project objectives are: identify genomic regions associated with tolerance to the bacterium Ca. Liberibacter spp through the analysis of expression QTL (eQTL) using linkage maps previously built for P. trifoliata (L.) Raf. cv. Rubidoux using a population of F1 hybrids between 75 Sunki Tangerine and Poncirus trifoliata and assessing the effect of selected genes using genome editing system CRISPR-mediated / CAS9. Application of this technology will increase the association gene x genotype, the knowledge of mechanisms involved in the response to HLB and may contribute with new search strategies of tolerance or resistance for use in susceptible genotypes.
