Abstract

The global population has been growing over the years and, therefore, it is necessary that agricultural production can keep pace with this increase, ensuring world food security. However, the agricultural areas are scarce, so it is necessary that the current producing areas increase their productivity in a sustainable way. Alto Paranapanema microbasin is in the southwest of the State of São Paulo and is one of the poorest regions of the state, with high rates of illiteracy and low HDI and a process of rural to urban migration has been taking place. The lack of specific research for the region results in generic productive indications from other regions, for the producers and, consequently, a low productivity, since the determinant and limiting factors, conditioned by agrometeorological factors vary from region to region, being necessary an evaluation of crop productivity efficiency for the determination of an appropriate management in the region. The use of plant growth models based on physiological and physical processes is well accepted for the analysis of this variable. The use of plant growth models based on physiological and physical processes is well accepted for the analysis of this variable. This work aims to study the efficiency of soybean production in the DSSAT/CROPGRO-soybean platform, which incorporates different programs and models that facilitate the organization of soil data, field observations, experimental conditions and genotypic information for an application of the crop models for several purposes.
