Abstract

Malpighiaceae gather 77 genera and about 1300 species, distributed predominantly in the Neotropical region, Brazil being one of the richest countries for this taxon, with 44 genera and approximately 530 species. Although important from the floristic and ecological point of view, flora studies for this group are scarce in the Paraná state. In this sense, this project aims to carry out a survey of the species of Malpighiaceae present in the Parque Estadual do Guartelá and describe them, besides making an identification key and an illustrated guide. The collection of the botanical material will take place monthly for a period of 10 months, being done along trails and roads. The collected species will be photographed and described, the information obtained will be used for the elaboration of the identification key, and their images will serve for the synthesis of the illustrated guide. The guide will contain taxonomic comments, popular names and scientific names, as well as the dispersion ways and conservation status for each species found. (AU)
