Abstract

The Dissociation, Splitting and Devaluation indexes refer to distinctions in the responses given to the Rorschach test that are indicative of personality-related dysfunctions. These indexes, associated to the decrease in the perceptive clarity of the responses, polarization and depreciation, are pointed out in the literature as correlates to Dissociative Identity Disorder, specifically by Dissociation index, and Borderline Personality Disorder, by Splitting and Devaluation. However, there are no studies in the literature integratinting the amount of research focused on these variables and, mainly, demonstrating its functioning and interpretability. This project aims to perform a technical and psychometric verification of the evaluative capacity of the Dissociation, Splitting and Devaluation variables, in order to integrate them to the Rorschach Performance Assessment System (R-PAS). To do so, a methodology will be executed divided in three stages. The first one, aimed to carry out a systematic review and meta-analysis of the variables Dissociation, Splitting and Devaluation; the second, focused on the technical verification and refinement of the coding and correction criterias of these variables; and the third one, designed to investigate the psychometric properties of these variables and their functioning in relation to the other variables of the R-PAS system. With the project, we expect to obtain applicable data to organize and improve the standardization of coding and correction of these variables, to examine evidence of their validity, as well as to verify the functioning of these indexes, Dissociation, Splitting and Devaluation for possible insertion into the R-PAS system.
