Abstract The comics have emerged simultaneously in several countries, developed from the literature, drawings, engravings and paintings, being known in Japan as manga. As informational resource, the manga have context several, such as your history, your culture and social reasons; they can adapt to different areas and connected. Whereas the manga as informational resources that mix image and text, we have the need to represent them properly to ensure your user access and retrieval in digital and traditional means. From this context, this study points as main problems: what are the metadata (attributes) are required in the description of the manga? Thus, general objective is to determine the metadata needed for representation of manga, on the basis of the description tools belonging to the representation of the information. Through a survey of exploratory nature, qualitative theoretical character, it is expected that the results present contributions to the description of comics and manga in the institutions working with the cultural heritage, such as libraries, archives and museums. | |
