Abstract

Bovine parasitic sadness is a complex of two distinct hemoparasitoses, with similar clinical signs and epidemiology, mainly transmitted by the tick Rhipicephalus (Boophillus) microplus. Part of this complex is babesiosis caused mainly by Babesia bigemina, Babesia bovis and Anaplasmosis caused by Anaplasma marginale. However, B. bigemina and B. bovis can occur in isolation and yet cause productive losses and death of animals, as they cause changes in renal, hepatic and hematological parameters. In this context, the present study will analyze renal changes in calves experimentally infected with B. bigemina and B. bovis and later analyze the effects of the treatment of Imidocarb dipropionate in calves clinically affected by babesiosis. For this, six healthy male bovines, proven to be free from infection byhemoparasites, will be selected. The six animals will be intentionally infected with B. bigemina and B. bovis, and clinical and serum renal changes resulting from the inoculation of the agent will be evaluated before and after inoculation through physical, hematological and biochemical and urinary exams. After confirmation of the parasitemia, all six bovines will be treated with Imidocarb Dipripionate intramuscularly, at the dose of 1.2 mg / kg, to evaluate the efficacy and renal biochemical changes resulting from the application of the drug. Clinical improvement, return of renal physiological patterns and confirmation of the efficacy of Imidocarb. For the statistical analysis of critical evaluation in which each animal is its own control, a significance level of p <0.05 will be used. (AU)
