Abstract

This research has the objective of comparing the Truth Commission of the State of São Paulo "Rubens Paiva" and that of the state of Rio de Janeiro (2012-2015). Through a documentary analysis of the bills and the final and partial reports of these committees, we sought to observe how the composition and political and institutional natures that were profoundly different from these commissions impacted on the levels of institutionalization achieved by each one and, consequently, on their concrete results as coordinations and Public policies of memory, truth and reparation.
