Abstract

The research that will be presented through this project starts from the considerations of an earlier research (in the scope of scientific initiation), financed by the Fundação de Amparo Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP), during which we propose to think of photography not as a "mimetic machine" (TAUSSING, 1993), but rather as a machine of affections, that is: starting from the considerations made by Bruno Latour (1994), we propose to think of the photographs as a means of engendering sensible differences and, at the same time, make the bodies sensitive to different agents that come to affect them. The new visualization technologies in this way not only modify the perceptual paradigms, but also construct bodies and relations (bodies in relation). Based on this conception of photography, the objective of the research is to try to understand how the blind, in the condition of "producers-perceivers" (Ingold, 2015), inhabit the visible world from other senses that are not properly "visual". Trying to understand, from a study of the affective dynamics of the images produced by Evgen Bavcar, the role of imagination and synesthesia in the process of uninterrupted production of relations with images, thus reflecting on the very construction we make of the "visible world" and on the role that photography exerts in the production of a system of differences and in the formation of perceptive organs capable of affecting and being affected by these differences.
