Abstract

The goal of this project is to apply concepts of advanced electromagnetism, particularly of forces acting on a dielectric material due to propagating electromagnetic fields, in order to design self-aligned photonic couplers. The student will perform numerical calculations in order to achieve self-alignment and an experimental study using glass nanowires and silicon waveguides samples. (AU)
