Abstract

The use of solar energy to promote catalytic reactions is essential to make our economy more sustainable and greener, however, the vast majority of photocatalysts have activity limited to the UV region and therefore are not very efficient when excited by the solar spectrum. In this context, this project is focused on develop plasmonic photocatalysts active by visible light to promote organic reactions. The influence of doped nanoparticles, with shape and controlled sizes, and the support of these metallic nanoparticles on modified carbon nitrides will be investigated on plasmonic catalysis. Thus, it is intended to obtain a variety of photocatalysts, active by visible light and versatile, suitable to perform different types of reactions.
