Abstract

This research proposal aims to investigate the capability accumulation process in the technological, manufacturing and commercial levels and its role in the evolutionary processes in the ceramic tile clusters located in São Paulo, Santa Catarina and Castellon, Spain. The research intends to contribute to this debate through presentation of the lessons learned from those experiences. Based on these lessons, managerial implications and public policies will offered for the Brazilian industry. The project is structured in three phases. First, a bibliometric study will carry out once many international studies tried to evaluate the clusters evolution trajectories as well as the means to renew and transformation. The second step is related to the evaluation of the clusters experiences in the light of the capability accumulation process. This phase will evolve both qualitative and quantitative analysis.
