Abstract

USP systematically provides metadata of the scientific papers it has been producing since 2008, through the Portal de Revistas USP. Even though the data is openly accessible, it is necessary to consider the existence of technologies that are able to connect these data through Linked Data's best practices, according to W3C, which promotes and guides the Semantic Web construction. The adoption of measures in this field is going to potentialize the impact of USP's publications and represents a concrete opportunity, considering that its scientific production is already available with open access and it is also described on analytical level. Thus, this project's goal is to perform a diagnosis of datasets published on the Linking Open Data's "publications" segment (most recent diagram, published on 08/22/2017), which work with information of scientific communication results (journals and conference proceedings) identifying the main structural models of publication used for the formalization of the bibliographical registers. The research methodology is theoretical (bibliographical), empirical (exploratory and descriptive) and analytical. Through the diagnosis process, this research is configured as a study for making it possible to draw a structural model for bibliographical registers of scientific communication results. (AU)
