Abstract

The advent of new technologies influenced and altered the several activities developed by Librarianship and Information Science, such as the representation of people in contexts such as a Web. The should be precise and detailed, so that the user in their search finds what they want. The project called Linked Jazz, is set up as a Linked Open Data, but with links between artists related to Jazz, which uses information about these artists to represent them, and transcripts of interviews to link them. This context highlights the need for research on the steps before the publication and linking of music artists, and how the Resource Description and Access (RDA), Functional Requirements for Authority Data (FRAD), Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records), and the Virtual International Authority File (VIAF), can assist in the issue of authority data of music artists. Faced with this, the research aims to systematize data management in relation to the organization and representation of authority of music artists. The research is characterized as exploratory theoretical, of a qualitative nature, carried out through a bibliographical and documentary survey. It is hoped that the results can contribute to the best description of music artists, based on RDA and VIAF, in order to present how they can be used. In addition to revealing new possibilities and tendencies for the representation of people. (AU)
