Abstract

The explosion of information has led to the availability of a large amount of data generated in heterogeneous domains, which requires reflection on how informational environments, especially digital ones, should represent and describe their resources in a consistent and standardized way. Projects such as the Semantic Web and Linked Data were developed in order to meet the current technological context and that can potentially be applied to the bibliographic domain. In view of this, we try to answer to what extent the bibliographic data generated by the public universities in São Paulo are in line with or can they move to the Linked Data movement? It is based on the premise that there is a need to readjust the libraries, and the data generated by them, especially the data of authority, to the informational needs of the users in the digital environment. The objective is to identify the main requirements for the publication of semantic data interconnected according to Linked Data and to compare the authority data of the bibliographic catalogs of the Public Universities of São Paulo. With a qualitative-quantitative methodology, it is proposed to carry out a Systematic Review of Literature as a method to identify the established requirements for the publication of data interlinked by semantic links and the initiatives that have carried out the conversion of bibliographic data of authority in semantic links. In addition, a case study was carried out to verify that the bibliographic authority data produced by the Paulista Public Universities are in line with the Linked Data movement. As results, it is hoped to identify functional requirements that may guide the application of the standards proposed by Linked Data in bibliographic catalogs of authority data of the Public Universities of São Paulo.
