Abstract

In this research we intend to study Brazilian satirical poetry in the person of two poets whose works we consider important for understanding the process of deconstruction of the canon and proposing of new literary paradigms in Brazil: Bernardo Guimarães and Juó Bananére. Our study starts from the premise that the satirical production of these poets, from "negativity" to "positivity", according to Antonio Candido (1988), their poetry contributed to destabilize a poetic tradition still strongly inspired by the European molds between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, Contributing for the Brazilian literature, both romantic and post-romantic, to find its own solutions.
