Abstract

The aim of the present study is to analyze whether the use of smartphones is associated with sedentary behavior and different domains of daily life of school adolescents from 11 to 14 (6th to 9th year) years of age. This is an applied, descriptive and quantitative approach. Students from a public school and a part-time private school in the city of Presidente Prudente will be evaluated. The data regarding the level of physical activity practice will be collected through triaxial accelerometers (Actgraph model GTXE-PLUS) and the dependence on the use of smartphones will be analyzed through an interview using a structured questionnaire elaborated for this purpose and containing questions Directed to the domains: health, behavior, relationships, abstinence of the use and disturbance of the daily life that will be evaluated and that can be related to the sedentary behavior of adolescents. The association between the variables will be evaluated through the Pearson or Sperman correlation depending on the sample distribution. (AU)
