Abstract

The scientific visit at the University of Salento (Italy) ist planned during my sabbatical, in the period of the 15th of August, 2018 until the 15th of February, 2019 and aims for three results: 1) Carrying out a series of lectures (15 lectures, 2 hours each) for graduate students in Physics at the University of Salento, treating "The Goos-Hänchen shift and the Weak Measurement technique in Optics" with the aim to spread the ongoing research of the Brazilian Optical Group and to attract Italian students to start a Master and/or Doctorate in Applied Mathematics and/or Physics at Unicamp; 2) To further strengthen the scientific collaboration with the Experimental Group of Optics at the University of Salento (Lecce, Italy), of which Prof. Maurizio Martino is the responsible scientist, and to collaborate on 2.1) The oscillatory behavior of light in the composite Goos-H\"anchen shift, 2.2) The optimization of weak measurement technique to detect angular deviations, 2.3) The Laser power oscillations induced by the Goos-H\"anchen phase; 3) To organize interchanges between Brazilian and Italian students, interested in the theoretical/experimental research in Optics and to strengthen the scientific collaboration between the University of Salento and Unicamp, with projects of the European Community, the Italian INFN and the preparation of a thematical project FAPSP which is already of interest for Brazilian researchers of UFRJ, UFSCar, UFABC and Unicamp.
