Abstract

This research project has as its main theme, the analysis of the process of construction and development of the Brazilian and argentine national intelligence services during the initial phase of development, at the beginning of the Cold War (). Our objective is answer if both countries followed a common patter of intelligence development, our if the creation of the intelligence sector was a distinct process. For that, we will use a comparative analysis methodology to study the intelligence sector building process through this period and, than we will compare the existing similarities and the divergences related though this fundamental stage of national security. Based on the neo-realist school of the International Relations, this project will be a descriptive analytical and historiographic research that will search and than compare, information related to the intelligence services of Brazil and Argentina to find the common and divergent aspects in the same process of development.
