Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the perspective of history that permeates popular education experiences with emancipatory sense in Latin American social movements, as from the notion of remembrance, as presented by Walter Benjamin in Theses on the Philosophy of History. The research will be based on a literature focused on the study of memory in popular education, in conjunctions with interviews with emblematic popular educators in this context, which systematized experiences in Latin America in the last decades. We intend to recollect these experiences and investigate in what ways remembrance is mobilized in the practices of movements on the continent. (AU)
