Abstract

The goal of this internship project is to investigate the effects of tidal forces on the orbital evolution of a celestial body (tipically, a terrestrial planet or moon in either our solar system or exoplanetary systems) modelled after an n-layer rheological model (possibly including icy crusts, subsurface oceans, molten mantles, solid cores, etc.), and to compare the results of the numerical integration of the models with real, observational data.
