This research focuses the mismatches between the proposals for the professionalization of education and the reality experienced in schools, which still presents a series of obstacles to these proposals. It notes the difficulty to promoting the professional development of teachers within schools, noting the influence of the market on training processes. Thus, the present research questions: how to make possible the construction of the school as a place of professional teacher development, based on the professionalization of education´s principles. Specifically, we aim: a) document and analyze processes and tools that can collaborate with such construction; b) to point out the challenges encountered in the construction of the school as a place of professional development; c) present the changes introduced in the new training processes in relation to teaching practices; d) identify tools, dynamics and other aspects that favor the strengthening of collective work and professional autonomy; e) analyze the contribution of the training process to teachers and school. We chose the qualitative research, of constructive-collaborative nature, having as techniques of data collection: participant observation; focus groups and documentary analysis. The data will be analyzed from the content analysis. Participants will be teachers, coordinating teachers and managers of three municipal public schools in Rio Claro-SP. (AU)
