Abstract

This research is theoretical-conceptual and is dedicated to the theory of Yourself as approached by Foucault in his late works. Since the 1980s classes Foucault thinks about the process of subjectivation, an expensive conception for the current psychology, based on the genealogy of Western self practices that were rescued from classical antiquity. The course of 1982, entitled as The Hermeneutics of the Subject, is fundamental to the new theoretical Foucault's perspective which is based on the history of the Care of the Self's ethic. This course is the specific sphere of this research. Our objective is to explore and analyze the specificities of the notional use that Foucault makes in this course, from the descriptive category of the conversion to the self (se convertere ad se). Moreover, we will articulate this category with the ethical-aesthetic arrangement of the subjectivity problem in the final part of his works. (AU)
