Abstract

This project, for post-doctoral studies at the Center d'Etudes en Sciences Sociales du religieux (CéSor) of the Ecole des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) -Paris- France, which will be supervised by Professor Michael Löwy, aims to the study of how constituted and with what articulations and dispositions, in Weberian thought, the conception of "elective affinities", what its role in systematizing the conception of the process of rationalization and what repercussions would have in the types of education of modernity. The study will focus on Weber's writings on the sociology of religions, particularly in the second version of the Die Protestantische Ethik und der Geist des Kapitalismus - present in Gesammelte Aufsätze zur Religionssociologie - (Collected Essays on Sociology of Religion ) and in the study - Die Wirtschaftsethik der Weltreligionen (Economic Ethics of World Religions) in which Weber's only reference to ideal types of education can be found. Other works in which Weber mentions the concepts studied as Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft - (Economics and Society) and Gesammelte Aufsätze zur Wissenschaftslehre - (Essays gathered in the theory of science) will also be used. The study aims at the renewal of Weberian theoretical conceptions in education using a conceptual apparatus so far little explored by scholars in this area. Keywords: elective affinities; rationalization process; Max Weber
