Abstract

The objective of this research proposal is to introduce the student to the research topics involved in the approved FAPESP Thematic Research Proposal under Grant 2013/25977-7 "Segurança e Confiabilidade da Informação: Teoria e Aplicações", in which the supervisor is one of the principal investigators. The current proposal consists of introducing the fundamental concepts of Error-Correcting Codes over Commutative Rings and Rings of Algebraic Integers and Number Theory by considering applications such as reliable and secure transmission of digital information.
