Abstract

We will study the foundations and the formal basis of quantum field theory in order to familiarize the student with scattering amplitude calculations using Feynman diagrams. We will study in detail Quantum Electrodynamics and some basic ideas that led to the construction of the Standard Model. Our aim is that at the end of this study the student will be prepared to start a graduate program in the field of Particle Phenomenology.
