Abstract

This work will evaluate the shear strength of expanded polystyrene (EPS) with various interfaces. The densities used will be 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 kg / m3. In the laboratory will be carried out tests of specific mass and tests of sear strength (direct shear) with different configurations (interfaces) in the dry and saturated conditions. Interfaces with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) geomembranes (GM), with sandy and clayey soils and with nonwoven geotextiles will be tested. The soils will be removed from the region of Bauru (SP). Geomembranes will be provided by national companies as well as geotextiles. Peak and residual envelopes will be evauated for each configuration. This work complements the previous works approved by FAPESP (processes: 2015 / 12450-6 and 2016 / 13108-2) as well as the 2017 / 22579-1 process (under evaluation).
