Abstract

The anisotropic electromagnetic behavior of superconducting films will be investigated by means of electrical measurements. In the experiments, the sample will be cooled below its critical temperature under an in-plane field. Such parallel field induces anisotropy in the penetrated flux dynamics when there is a further application of a perpendicular field, concomitantly to the parallel one. Magneto-optical imaging allows quantifying the anisotropy induced by in-plane field. However, under extreme conditions - relatively high fields and temperatures close to the critical one - the image contrast is low and, consequently, the accuracy of magneto-optical measurements is also low. In this proposal, we intend to use electrical measurements through van der Pauw method to detect the anisotropy of superconducting films under inaccessible condition by other experimental techniques. The electrical measurements will complement those magneto-optical ones, allowing to explore the anisotropy of a superconducting film on a wide range of field and temperature. (AU)
