Abstract Giardiasis is an important zoonosis caused by the protozoa Giardia duodenalis and has oral / fecal transmission. Seven genotypes are described and only two are zoonotic. The main objective of this project is the parasitological diagnosis of faecal samples from dogs of the Jardim das Imbuias neighborhood in the southern area of the city of São Paulo and genotyping of the positive samples by amplification and sequencing of giardin and Heat Shock Protein genes. | |
