Abstract

The global Internet governance aims to consolidate itself for the last 20 years, being more focused in its infrastructure and its protocols. These days, it also concerns about questions of content, in a scenery where the Internet is dominated by some few private corporations that can act globally, creating and disseminating information, besides also collecting data from its users to commercial purposes, which can also be used for the knowledge of social behaviors and influenciate actions and ideas. The assumption of this work is that this new scenery transforms relations of power that reflects themselves in the multisectorial governance, once these large companies concentrate a massive quantity of information through their easily accessible services. Giving this network governance's revision that it has been occurring, the question of this research is: does the Internet governance helps the private transnational corporations? It intends to analyse the actions from two technology transnationals, Google and Facebook, within spaces for discussions about the multisectorial Internet governance, regarding the themes of data policy and network neutrality, between 2013 and 2018.
