Abstract

The purpose of the project is to examine characteristics such as actions and agents belonging to the Fernando Henrique Cardoso Foundation (FHC Foundation), created 2004 as FHC Institute (iFHC), problematizing it as a Think Tank. The analysis is part of the attempt to expand the comprehension of Think Tanks in the current Brazilian scenario and its respective position as a Think Tank. The objective is to proceed with the survey of the general characteristics of the Foundation, its main actions and sectors of influence, as well as to elaborate the profile of the leaders and the main agents that circulate there. It seeks to understand the peculiarity of the FHC Foundation as an institution of symbolic production, the type of expert that predominates there and to understand the importance of the organization in the Brazilian political and social framework. Bibliographic, documentary and observational research will be carried out at FHC Foundation. The project is part of a wider research dedicated to the analysis of Think Tanks in the country and its relation with academic and political spaces. (AU)
