Abstract

In this project, we intend to develop a theorization on the possibilities of interpretation of the eighteenth century luso-brazilian poetry, specifically those poems attributed to Inácio José de Alvarenga Peixoto. This PhD is a deepening of the master’s degree thesis developed by the same student and also advised by Professor João Adolfo Hansen PhD, financed by FAPESP (processes 2014/26266-0 and 2015/21975-5). That thesis resulted on a reedition of the poems attributed to Alvarenga Peixoto with new philological criteria. We intend, in this PhD, to expand the theoretical assumptions of our master’s thesis from the field of philological studies to that of poetics and retorics studies. That expansion will be achieved through the analyses of the entire corpus attributed to Alvarenga Peixoto. (AU)
