Abstract

This scientific initiation project has the purpose to manufacture metasurfaces (metamaterials) for the visible region of the spectrum using ion beam lithography (from a FIB FEI Quanta 3D) on Silver and Gold film surfaces on glass substrates. The characterization of the structures will be performed by measuring the extraordinary transmission spectrum using an optical microscope coupled to a spectrometer. The results obtained will be compared with results of numerical simulations using the LUMERICAL software. The fabricated metastructures have the aim to validate projects carried out by other members of the group targeting holography applications, lenses, and sensors. The proposal presented will be carried out using the installed infrastructure of the Center for Research in Optics and Photonics (CEPOF - CEPAP-FAPESP program) and the experience of its members in the processes and techniques involved.
