Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the issue of LGBT prisoners in Mexico: how has this population been constituted (or not) as a specific subject of rights? What are the main social actors involved in this dynamics? Which discourses (political, technical-scientific and legal) are mobilized to elaborate their main demands? What public policies have been implemented in this direction or what obstacles do they face? The fieldwork will be carried out on several fronts, seeking to cover the complexity and sensitivity of the problem: with social movements engaged with these causes, with state actors that interact with this population and, if possible, with people incarcerated and ex prisoners. The research internship also seeks to map the ways in which this issue appears in the public sphere, as well as a wide bibliographic research in the literature of the social sciences produced in Mexico. Finally, it is intended the development of a compared perspective to the material produced in Brazil.
