Abstract

The project aims to understand and analyze the trajectories of people who have experienced prison in the state of São Paulo, understanding the different dimensions that are permeated by prison, such as relationships with family members, children, companions and, work, physical and mental health, and public and specific policies for the egress population. The research carried out indicates that a series of vulnerabilities are aggravated in the lives of people who have been in prison and that, depending on gender, race and social class, they increase even further, such as the lack of housing, employment, documents, added to the enforcement of penalties, fines and stigma and prejudice. Considering that the PCC operates in almost all of the state's penitentiaries, the research also intends to understand how any connections established with the dynamics of the Command outside the prisons occur, after serving a sentence. map the perception of the legitimacy of police and prison institutions, from the perspective of those who were apprehended, sentenced and who served sentences in penitentiary units in the state of São Paulo and from the perspective of public security professionals and criminal police officers, to understand how these actors perceive actions linked to human rights and punitive. To achieve the objectives, a bibliographical survey will be carried out, mapping of public policies and service networks for the egress population and support and resistance networks formed by survivors in the state of São Paulo, open or semi-structured interviews with ex-prisoners and public security professionals and criminal police officers, with the aim of influencing the formulation of public policies. In addition, data already collected by the research lines of the Center for Violence Studies - NEV will be analyzed, and which can serve to improve the understanding of the phenomena studied. (AU)
