Abstract

In this master's project, I intend to analyze how "Casa 1", the republic of host and cultural center that welcomes LGBT people expelled from the home, produces movements around a notion of home without claiming the concept of family. Through an ethnographic approach, I intend to analyze: (i) what dynamics and processes make up House 1 in the midst of the multiple relatedness that are constructed between "Casa 1" and its inhabitants and between the "Casa 1" and the space that surrounds it, as well as ii) what ways of making politics are produced by the "Casa 1" during the performance of its activities. Ethnographing the relatedness and movements forged in and for "Casa 1" is relevant because it allows visualizing the forms of association and making political in a context that does not claim the idea of family to produce their movements. Thus, I hope this research will contribute to the debate of studies on multiple forms of relatedness that escape conventional forms of kinship and family, as well as studies of the movements that are created by and at home.
