Abstract

The present work is part of the research carried out by the Nucleus of Dialectic Research Exclusion / Social Inclusion (NEXIN), coordinated by Prof. Bader B. Sawaia, who seeks to understand the way in which the mechanisms of exclusion and oppression of societies characterized by extreme social inequality mark the everyday life and subjectivity of its people, as well as singular forms of resistance to these determinations restricting life, having as a theoretical reference Socio-Historical Social Psychology. Collaborating with NEXIN's research on the poor adolescent of the periphery, the present research focuses on a dimension with little studies: leisure and fun, since they are seen as expendable dimensions and considered outside the field of the right to the citizen. A qualitative research will be carried out with young people from the outskirts of São Paulo. The general objective is to analyze the senses of the young people referring to leisure and fun activities that the Morro do Socó neighborhood offers them, in a historical perspective, that is, in the interaction between past (perspectives in childhood), present (present experience) and expectation of the future. In order to do so, it intends to know the experiences of the young people inside and outside the neighborhood, to identify their demands of leisure and fun, and how they evaluate the reception of these in the neighborhood of housing. Through the experience with the young people during the research process, we intend to analyze the senses and experiences provided by the leisure activities that they perform.
