Abstract

The processes of production of socio-spatial differences and inequalities ate themes treated in Geography, by different geographers and theoretical-methodological perspectives. The urban space, understood as a condition, means and product of social relations, expresses the relationship between a fragmented logic and socio-spatial segmentation, being, therefore, fundamental for the understanding of inequalities. The socio-spatial fragmentation process is a possibility to understand how in the struturing of the city the spatial practices of the citizens define and are defined in the urban context prone to accentuate the socio-spatial inequalities, further aggravated by the oandemic of the covid-19. It is from this process that we will oserve the condition of the individuals who live in housing estates of the Minha Casa, Minha Vida (PMCMV) (lane 1) in Presidente Prudente/SP and of closed condominuims with high exchange value residences, seeking objectify differentiation and socio-spatial inequalities as a way to reveal their insertion in the city on the scales of everyday life, taking into account the difference between these different socio-economic and spatial contexts and changes arising from the aurrent pandemic context. The urban routes home-work-home and in the spaces of consumption or leisure will be recorded in order to apprehend the daily life and elaborate an analysis of the transition from the center-peripheral logic to a fragmentary logic in which socio-spatial fragmentation takes place, not just as a determinant, but as a form-content of the way of thinking, doing and living the city.
