Abstract

The water is a natural resource extremely important to the life, it is present from the biological operation of an alive being's cells to the balance of an entire ecosystem. This resource possesses varied uses, among them: the domestic provisioning, the irrigation, the industrial, the animal and among other, due to that, of the bad administration and fiscalization, of the irregular occupation in the margins and pollution, the bodies of water have been suffering countless environmental impacts, promoting alterations in the physical characteristics, chemistries and biological. Therefore, this proposal has the objective of accomplishing an environmental diagnosis in urban passages of the Stream of the Lemon tree and their tributaries, the jus downstream of the Spa of the Friendship, in Presidente Prudente, (SP) with view to understand the damages caused by the human occupation and for the uses of the resources water, starting from the application of a Protocol of Fast Evaluation of the Diversity of Habitat proposed by Callisto et al. (2002) and adapted for the local context, besides the analysis of parameters of quality of the water, as: dissolved oxygen, hydrogen potential (pH), temperature, conductivity, turbines, materials in suspension and concentrations of nitrogen and match totals. The work methodology will tell with the accomplishment of bibliographical revision and discussions starting from field works with observations in loco about the environmental conditions of the stream, analyzing, mainly, the occupation of the margins, erosion and, silting anthropogenic interferences, vegetable covering, odor, alterations in the channel, characteristics of the bottom and stability of the body of water.
