Abstract

In the present project of scientific initiation has as objective to identify and to quantify the presence of lead in the atmospheric particulate in areas with geological faults. The concentration of total lead determined in the particulate should be correlated with the exhaling concentration of Rn-222 radon gas in the neotectonic faults. Samples of the atmospheric material will be collected by passive collectors installed at the Faculty of Science and Technology (Campus de Presidente Prudente) - UNESP. The sampling area shows a strong indication of the location and direction of geological fault buried at 200 m depth. The concentration of radon-222 gas in air will be performed by CR-39 type nuclear trace detectors.
