Abstract Materials that present a coexistence and a coupling between two or more physical properties of technological interest are of great interest in the technological industry. Coupling between physical properties allows the manipulation of a given property by the direct stimulus of the other, thus providing conditions for technological innovations. In this context, piezoelectricity assumes a prominent role in the possibility of manipulating optical properties, such as photoluminescence, through the direct and inverse piezoelectric effects. In this project, we propose the study of the synthesis, densification and analysis of piezoelectric and optical properties of piezo-photonic ceramics based on (K, Na, Li) (Nb, Cu, Er) O3 (KNN -Er). Thus, we propose to synthesize powders and to maximize the densification of KNN-Er ceramics by using the conventional oxide mixing and sintering by solid state route. With this strategy, we intend to produce at the end of this project to produce piezo-photonic KNN-Er ceramics with high structural and microstructural quality, that present a coexistence and a coupling between the piezoelectric and optical properties. | |
