Abstract

Over the last decade, the Web has increasingly provided users with interactivity by Rich Internet Applications (RIAs). The interactivity is due to the use of several dynamic interface components, which have similar interaction behavior as desktop applications. However, due to the dynamic nature of RIAs, most applications still do not implement accessible solutions in their components for a variety of reasons, including lack of developer knowledge. In particular, given the level of difficulty in conducting manual accessibility assessments in RIAs, as well as the lack of automated tools, there is a lack of support for supporting developers in this process. The first step in building automated tools for assessing accessibility in RIAs is to identify the dynamic elements that compose the Web interface. In this sense, this research project aims to investigate solutions that allow the construction of a mechanism capable of automatically identifying the dynamic components present in RIAs. At the end of this project, we aimed to get a support for the development of automatic accessibility evaluation tools, contributing to the availability of accessible RIAs.
