Abstract

The group under analysys, a member of the French extreme right, manifests itself through academic publications in the quarterly magazine Terre et Peuple (Earth and People), telling in this magazine its ideals of history and politics. In order to justify academically their racist and xenophobic ideals, the group draws heavily on Ancient History, often understood as National History, to build a National Identity of France and thus preserve its belief in the primacy of the white race. This fact, in turn, entails not only the social structure and cultural aspects of the Indo-European peoples (regarded as the ethnic root of the "pure French"), but also the pagan religiosity of these Ancient societies. It is this particular aspect that this research intends to clarify: The revival of paganism by the French extreme right in the pages of the Terre et Peuple magazine
