Abstract

The study of statistical procedures associated to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) presents an extensive range of applications, as well as has contributed massively in the analysis of the geographic space. In addition, it is a subject little contemplated within the course of Geography. Thus, we intend to study geostatistics techniques applied to a pluviometric database of the West of the State of São Paulo, not only aiming at its spatial behavior, but also its relation with the expansion of sugarcane cultivation in this area.
