Abstract

Still little studied the iconography of the Mass of Saint Gregory is the theme of our doctoral research. It is our objective, through the analysis of a corpus of images produced in France at the late Middle Ages, to study the relations of this iconography with the reaffirmation of the Eucharistic realism. Therefore, it is of fundamental importance a research internship to be held at the University of Paris-Sorbonne (Sorbonne Université) under the responsibility of Professor Sabine Berger. During this period, we will have the opportunity to complete the planned corpus (since none of these works are found in Brazil) - to proceed to the comparative analysis. Besides this fundamental task for our research, we will analyze textual sources that are not present in Brazil. These written sources are composed of old documents, notably medieval manuscripts - essential for the development of our research. There is also a specialized bibliography that is not found in Brazilian physical libraries and is also not available online. In addition to providing essential materials to develop our doctorate, with a research internship abroad, our work will benefit from a new academic environment in an internationally renowned institution. In this way, this opportunity will allow us to deepen the analysis of the main questions of our doctorate.
