Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a disease of great incidence and one of the major health problems in the world, having as complications the deficit in the functional performance of the lower limbs, besides being a strong predictor of functional limitations. Individuals affected by diabetes are predisposed to reduce the mobility of the tíbiotarsal joint and compromise the blood flow. Object: To evaluate the relationship between the range of motion and blood flow of the lower limb of the tíbiotarsal joint in individuals with diabetic neuropathy. Method: It will be evaluated 25 volunteers with age range between 35 and 65 years, with type 2 DM and tibial-tibial joint amplitude limitation, of both sexes, divided into a single group will be evaluated. Arterial blood flow analysis, as well as the arm ankle index, will be assessed using Doppler ultrasound, surface circulation through thermography, and joint range of motion by digital goniometry. Statistical Analysis: To analyze the data, a normality test will be used to verify the distribution of the data and a consistent statistical test for the appropriate intragroup comparisons, and a significance level of 5% will be adopted. Expected Results: The data obtained in the study aimed to demonstrate the relationship between the joint range of motion and blood circulation.
