Abstract

I present in this document a proposal of scientific project with the objective of changing scholarship of masters level for a direct doctorate, before my approval on course transference (master to doctorate) happened during the qualification exam. The first objectives proposed on masters project have been achieved until the date, and with the approval to changing of level, we are proposing to expand the project to the doctorate level with experimental approach and methodologies more innovative to answer some questions that appeared during the project's development. Our proposal is to extend the studies on the evaluation of electrophysiological properties of dorsal motor of the vagus neurons that have projections exclusively to the hepatic region on spontaneously hypertensive rats, and its normotensive controls, against pharmacogenetic (DREADD) and non-pharmacological (physical exercise) therapies, detailed all over the document. Furthermore, it is important to highlight that the results obtained so far were presented at the last annual meeting of Federation of Societies of Experimental Biology (FesBE) and my project received the first place in Álvaro Osório de Almeida Award granted by the Brazilian Society of Physiology (SBFis) to young scientists with outstanding and excellence works. Therefore, we hope to count with the appreciation in the judgment of this proposal to change the scholarship level. (AU)
