Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate different techniques for the preparation of single-unit implant-prostheses on external hexagon implants for marginal (vertical and horizontal) and internal misfit before and after the mastication simulation test and in the presence of oral biofilm. For this, seventy specimens will be made of metal (CoCr), divided into: G1) UCLA with metal strap (CoCr); G2) UCLA calcinable; G3) Milling coping (intraoral scanning); G4) Milling coping (Extraoral scanning); G5) TiBase + Coping milling (intraoral scanning); G6) TiBase + Coping milling (Extraoral scanning); G7) Coping milling in wax (CAD-CAM) + casting in CoCr. All specimens will be submitted to mechanical cycling, simulating the use of the prosthesis for five years. Torque and the marginal and internal misfit will be measured before and after cycling. As will be evaluated biofilm count present at the interface between the prosthesis and the implant before and after mechanical cycling. The data of the measurements for each type of analysis will be submitted to SigmaPlot (SigmaPlot, San Jose, CA, USA) and analyzed in relation to the normal distribution, and later the data will be submitted to more pertinent statistical analysis according to the results.
