Abstract

The usability of privacy policy tools is a current challenge in the area of Human-Computer Interaction and Information Security. Studies suggest that Information Architecture (IA) plays an important role in the process of improving the usability of privacy policy tools. Thus, IA assessment techniques are fundamental in this process. Card sorting is one of the key techniques for evaluating AI, and online tools facilitate and quantify their application. However, to access to such tools is still restricted and free versions of the tools are limited. Given this context, we raise the following research question: What are the contributions of the online card sorting application to improving the usability of privacy policy interfaces? This project aims to: identify benefits of using online card sorting technique to improve usability of interfaces to configure privacy policies on the Web, and develop an online web tool for card sorting application. The achievement and publication of the results in response to the objectives are the main contributions of this project. It is also hoped that this project will help in the academic and professional formation of the candidate, from experiences with techniques and technologies widely valued.
