Abstract

The Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE in English and ESS, in Portuguese) is a heterogeneous field in theoretical-conceptual and practical terms, which includes a set of activities and organizations in all sectors of economic activity, organized in the form of cooperatives, associations, NGOs, foundations and even on the basis of informality. In Brazil, it is often referred as Solidarity Economy (ESOL). Due to the theoretical-conceptual uncertainties on the subject, we can note that increase the importance and interest in understanding this theme. As we will show, such activities contribute to unemployment, through the generation of work and income. However, a lot of experiences are characterized by structural weaknesses in their modus operandi. One of the ways to facing this reality is the construction and strengthening of the "entrepreneurial solidarity ecosystem", which refers to a set of relations between actors and agents of the territory that are, directly and indirectly connected to the operation of the experiences. In this perspective, the main objective of this project is to study the process of building the "entrepreneurial solidarity ecosystem" in the municipality of Araraquara (SP), in order to understand how are the organicity and the articulations of the main actors involved and their developments in terms of strengthening ESOL's public policy in the territory. This objective will be achieved, fundamentally, on the bibliographical review, interviews and analysis of international experiences.
